We’re BACK!! Sorry we have been gone so long!! Our 2017 goals are to get 2 blog posts up per month, and I am sticking to it!! We love sharing our beautiful weddings, our amazing couples and keeping you in the loop on what is new and exciting in the Wedding Flower Industry!
We are starting with a classic, because it never goes out of style! Are you a timeless, classic bride? This may be for you! Do you want to look back on your wedding photos in 50 years and not be able to tell what year you were married? Then you are a classic, timeless couple. Because believe me, my daughters look at my wedding photos and say “Mom, what the heck is with those bridesmaid’s dresses? So 80’s!!” Envision large puffy cap sleeves! Don’t get me wrong, I love trends, color and I believe whatever you are wanting for your big day, you should have!
So, let’s take a look at one of our favorite classics from 2016! We like to call it Blush & Fluff, such a pretty mix of Peony, Garden rose, Ranunculus, Spray rose, Hydrangea, in all shades of Blush, Ivory, Light Pinks. Photos via : Echo Media Photography
Faith & Darrin
A crisp Fall day, a gorgeous couple and stunning style! Faith & Darrin tied the knot at the Grand Sierra Pointe and partied all night at The Forest House Lodge, Foresthill, CA. Faith is a self proclaimed “A” personality! She knew what she wanted, but trusted me to take control! She knew I had her vision and she knew I was very detail oriented, which made her very comfortable! My favorite part was delivering her bouquet to her, tears of joy from both of us! She just looked stunning. The Grand Sierra Pointe looked gorgeous with the traditional Chuppah, and rustic elegant designs we used to deck it out! At the reception we used 3 different designs to add interest and dimension to the room. A Manzanita tree design with hanging Amerathus, Orchids, and dripping in crystals. A Lantern design with a small accent piece and then we repurposed the aisle designs for the other tables. Thank you Faith & Darrin for letting The Posh Posey be such a special part of your beautiful day.

Jessica & Kevin
October 12th, 2013
Jessica and Kevin shared their day surrounded by family and friends. Their gorgeous wedding took place on the Bride’s family property, located in Placerville, CA. Jessica knew exactly what she was wanting and had the help of many family members to pull it all together! Lucky Girl! One of the most special designs we created for them was on Jessica’s Grandmother’s spinning wheel. Her Grandmother passed not long ago and Jessica wanted to include her in a special way. We placed a beautiful, flowing floral design on the spinning wheel, that graced the ceremony site. Every detail was considered in this gorgeous wedding and it all came together perfectly! Yes, there are quite a few Flower Girl shots, because she is just so darn adorable! Congrats again to Jessica & Kevin!

Jen & Josh
The Flower Farm Inn, Loomis, CA
I’m so excited to share the “Very Berry”, Flower Farm Inn Wedding of Jen & Josh! This couple definitely had an idea in mind when they came to me. They wanted a Old World Botanical feel. They accented with antique “botanical” prints and other pieces of this era. They wanted to include all kinds of berries, fruits, pods, ferns anything with botanical interest. We softened the details with gorgeous flowers. Garden roses, peony, dahlia, hydrangea, and a color palette of berry, burgundy, creams, greens and a hint of rosey pinks. The accent of navy brides maids dresses was a perfect compliment. The Flower Farm Inn, Loomis , CA was the perfect back drop for their special day, with all the botanical goodness, this venue has it all! It was such a pleasure working with this amazingly sweet couple and help them bring their vision to life! Please enjoy these stunning images by Jenn Bartell Photography + Design.
Do you love the scent of flowers? Most flowers have their own unique scent, some we love, and some we don’t! Our senses dance when we smell something so wonderful, it evokes a feeling, a memory and a moment in time.
I love this photo of my bride Kristen, from last July taking in the sweet smell of her “toss” Bouquet!
Choosing wedding flowers can be tough if you are sensitive to certain scents. Flowers for your guest tables is something else to take into consideration. A highly fragrant flower arrangement may be difficult for your guests to either enjoy their meal or they may be sensitive as well. Choosing flowers with less scent may be a better option. Or if you love a highly scented flower, you can always add just a “few” to your arrangements, so it is not too overpowering. Here is a wonderful list of some more commonly used wedding flowers and the categories which they fall under to help you decide what you may love or need to stay away from.
Heavy/Exotic Scented Flowers
Oriental lily, particularly Casablanca (pure white), Le Reve
(pale pink), & Stargazer (white edges with dark pink throat)
Aromatic Scented Flowers & Greens
Eucalyptus foliage, rub leaves for the full effect
Grape hyacinth (Muscari) = faint musk
Spicy/Peppery Scented Flowers
Florists’ broom (Genista)
Hypericum = spicy
Pink (Dianthus) = sweet clove
Sweet/Flowery Scented Flowers
Lily of the valley (Convallaria)
Rose, Garden Roses
Citrus Scented Flowers
Waxflower (Chamelaucium) = lemon and marzipan scent
Eucharis = delicate lemon curd scent
Myrtle = Okay, not technically a flower, but these greens have a wonderful

Soft & Romantic in Gold Country~Imperial Hotel, Amador City, CA-Wedding-Flowers-Folsom-Placerville-Gold Country
What can I say about Andrea and Kevin…. Just Perfect in every way!! They chose an intimate gathering of family and close friends to share their special day. The Imperial Hotel in Amador City, CA was the setting for the vintage, romantic feeling they wanted. A beautiful rustic hotel, nestled in the Gold Country foothills. Andrea came to me knowing what she wanted, soft, vintage pastels and “FLUFFY”! I think I succeeded! I gave her sweet smelling garden roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, dusty miller, spray rose. All the elements of a romantic beauty, just like my bride Andrea.
The photos were taken by Eleakis & Elder Photography are just stunning and capture every moment of the day! Love them all!

Rustic Romance & Love, was the theme of the day for Lindsey & Eric Taylor. Lindsey had a vision that captured the feel of her venue at the Forest House Lodge, Foresthill, CA. There are many styles I love, but this one is by far one of my favorites! I loved the textures, and unique mix of designs she chose. I hung designs from the aisle chairs, that later were re-used on her guest tables. A stunning sweetheart table design, graced the entrance of the room to give the “WoW” factor as you entered. She chose all white hydrangea with curly willow for her bridesmaids. Lindsey’s bouquet was beautiful mix of antique hydrangea, calla, roses, orchids, and wispy, woodsy textures. I did a custom wrap on Lindsey’s bouquet, incorporating silk florets from her Mother’s bridal veil. It is these sentimental touches that bring meaning to the most important flowers a bride will carry. Lindsey definitely had a budget, but she knew where to splurge! She even created her own branch designs for her guest tables, and many other personal touches that brought it all together. Lindsey has a flare for design, is now going to be working for The Forest House Lodge, helping brides & grooms create their dreams! GO Lindsey!! It was a complete joy working with you to create your Dreams!
Denise and Travas came to me with a designer’s dream! She said, “Here are my colors, we want a modern & vintage feel, I’ll leave it up to YOU!” WOW! Exciting! They were so fun to work with and I was able to be very creative. As a floral designer, when given full reign, would say we do our best, most beautiful work when we are given this trust. It doesn’t matter about the budget, how big or small the wedding etc… It is about trust, and if you can’t trust your floral designer to see your vision, you have the wrong one! It’s about communication, trust and enjoying the process together! Thank you again the Denise & Travas for trusting The Posh Posey! Photos via Heather Prettyman Photography.
I am so excited to share this beautiful backyard wedding of Yvette & Pat. This fabulous couple shared their love for each other in this intimate, backyard setting. They chose lush, colorful blooms that were perfect for the enchanted garden feel they wanted. Urns overflowing with hydrangea, orchids, garden roses, dahlias, hanging amaranthus, and curly willow created a natural arch for the couple heart felt nuptials. They share eight grandchildren together, who were a special part of the day. The flower girls carried adorable floral fairy wands, sooo cute! Yvette’s bouquet was a simple, elegant design of mini callas, cymbidium orchids, and a wisp of hanging amaranthus. The natural stone aisle was lined with floating orchids and candles. I loved this wedding,it was love in it’s truest form. Intimate, heartfelt, and simply Blissful! Congrats again to Yvette & Pat!
