Sweet Vintage Wedding-at Lake Natoma Inn, Folsom, CA-The Posh Posey,Folsom, CA
We loved this sweet couple, Karen & Steven! Soft blush, nude and champange were the colors of this vintage inspired wedding. The bride had a collection of antique teacups that were used as centerpieces on the guest tables. A collection of antique bottles we used with single stems on the place card table. The gorgeous cake from Karen’s Bakery was just perfect with the fresh dahlia and rose details. I’m so happy I was able to be a part of their special day! Thank you to Fiorillo Photography for the lovely photos!

Retro Wedding Love-The Posh Posey, Folsom CA-Wedding Flowers Folsom
I know, it’s been awhile! But, we have been busy getting lovely photos from this Summer’s weddings!
Here is one of our favorites from August, 2012. Madeline & Christopher chose a gorgeous palette of yellows and blues. This wedding was beautifully designed by Amy Wendell with 2 Chic Events & Design. I loved the details they incorporated! I actually never met with the Bride or Groom, but we consulted over the phone. I sent her a design board, and also spoke with Amy to get an idea of their theme. This goes to show you that even if you are too busy or out of town and unable to meet in person, it can turn out perfect! Choosing the right vendors who can work together to bring your ideas to life! Check out this adorable couple and the stunning photos by Chantel Elder with Eleakis & Elder Photography!

Summer Love~Wedding at The Flower Farm Inn, Loomis, CA-wedding flowers Folsom
Katie & Tommy…. these two just stole my heart! What a wonderful, fun and exciting couple! I am so excited to be sharing this beautiful wedding from July 2012. I had the pleasure of working with Heather Prettyman Photography and The Flower Farm Inn! What could be better! I loved the colors Katie & Tommy chose for their big day. A romantic mix of seasonal Summertime flowers, gorgeous garden roses, dahlias, and sunflowers. Friends and family helped with some wonderful handmade details for the mason jars, and place settings. I love when the day comes and see all their dreams come true! Best Wishes to Katie & Tommy!
The Scent of a “Flower”~Wedding Flowers Folsom, CA~
Do you love the scent of flowers? Most flowers have their own unique scent, some we love, and some we don’t! Our senses dance when we smell something so wonderful, it evokes a feeling, a memory and a moment in time.
I love this photo of my bride Kristen, from last July taking in the sweet smell of her “toss” Bouquet!
Choosing wedding flowers can be tough if you are sensitive to certain scents. Flowers for your guest tables is something else to take into consideration. A highly fragrant flower arrangement may be difficult for your guests to either enjoy their meal or they may be sensitive as well. Choosing flowers with less scent may be a better option. Or if you love a highly scented flower, you can always add just a “few” to your arrangements, so it is not too overpowering. Here is a wonderful list of some more commonly used wedding flowers and the categories which they fall under to help you decide what you may love or need to stay away from.
Heavy/Exotic Scented Flowers
Gardenia
Narcissus
Oriental lily, particularly Casablanca (pure white), Le Reve
(pale pink), & Stargazer (white edges with dark pink throat)
Peony

Tuberose (Polianthes)
Aromatic Scented Flowers & Greens
Eucalyptus foliage, rub leaves for the full effect
Lavender foliage
Grape hyacinth (Muscari) = faint musk

Eucharis = delicate lemon curd scent
Myrtle = Okay, not technically a flower, but these greens have a wonderful

Soft & Romantic in Gold Country~Imperial Hotel, Amador City, CA-Wedding-Flowers-Folsom-Placerville-Gold Country
What can I say about Andrea and Kevin…. Just Perfect in every way!! They chose an intimate gathering of family and close friends to share their special day. The Imperial Hotel in Amador City, CA was the setting for the vintage, romantic feeling they wanted. A beautiful rustic hotel, nestled in the Gold Country foothills. Andrea came to me knowing what she wanted, soft, vintage pastels and “FLUFFY”! I think I succeeded! I gave her sweet smelling garden roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, dusty miller, spray rose. All the elements of a romantic beauty, just like my bride Andrea.
The photos were taken by Eleakis & Elder Photography are just stunning and capture every moment of the day! Love them all!

Sweet Love! Wedding at Lodi’s Wine & Roses~Wedding-Flowers-Folsom
What can I say… Ashley & Charles are the sweetest! Ashley came to me with a fresh and unique color palette and design ideas. A designer’s dream! Creams, yellows, purples. We used all different clear glass vases, and the look was stunning! Elegant, simple and fresh! Their morning ceremony at Lodi’s Wine & Roses was the perfect setting. The outside garden setting was a perfect backdrop to the colors they chose. You can feel the love these two share and from their families smiles! So sweet!

Are You “Pinning”? Show us your Boards! Wedding~Flowers~Folsom
Are you “Pinning” your wedding ideas? Pinterest is such a great source for brides to pull all their ideas together! These boards tell the story of your perfect day, and helps your Floral Designer, Planner, Venue, etc…help to bring it all together! It is a great tool for us designers as well, besides being able to see our own work, you can get an idea of “who” your vendor is. Their likes, loves, what inspires them. I have to say… it is a bit “addicting” and don’t pin when you are hungry! You will end up making some fantastic recipe and regret it later! Yummy! Happy Pinning!!
Sierra Foothill Love! Wedding-Flowers-Folsom
Fall in the Sierra Foothills is the most gorgeous time of year. The changing colors, and cool crisp air was the perfect venue for Lynzie and Tyler. They held their wedding at a private residence with the most beautiful sprawling grounds. Lynzie knew she wanted something classic, with a modern freshness. Her bouquet was a mix of calla, scabiosa, garden spray rose, hydrangea, freesia and fun textures, like “bunny tail”. The bridesmaids were fresh green hydrangea, red dahlia, spray rose and scabiosa. I loved how the colors played off all the natural greens. Congrats again to Lynzie and Tyler! Thanks for choosing The Posh Posey!
